These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Marae Izakaya website at www.maraeizakaya.com, as well as website enquiries, restaurant reservations, gift vouchers and promotions offered through the website.
1. Website information:
We aim to keep the information on this website accurate and current. However, menus, prices, opening hours, availability, photographs, promotions and other content may change from time to time.
Website content is provided for general information. While we take reasonable care when preparing it, we do not guarantee that all content will always be complete, current or free from errors.
If you need to confirm important information before visiting, please contact the restaurant directly.

Opening hours may change on public holidays, during special events or because of circumstances outside our reasonable control. Current hours should be confirmed through our website, Google Business Profile or by contacting the restaurant.
3. Reservations:
Restaurant reservations may be made through OpenTable or another booking service linked from our website.
A reservation is confirmed only when you receive confirmation from the relevant booking platform or directly from Marae Izakaya.
You are responsible for providing accurate contact details, party size, reservation time and other requested information. Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to change or cancel your reservation.
Specific booking conditions may apply to certain reservations, including:

Any applicable conditions and charges will be disclosed during the booking process or in your booking confirmation. Those disclosed conditions form part of your reservation agreement.
If you expect to arrive late, please contact the restaurant. Any table-holding period will be communicated during booking or in your confirmation.
We may need to modify or cancel a reservation because of emergencies, safety concerns, venue closures or circumstances outside our reasonable control. If we cancel a prepaid reservation, we will offer an appropriate rebooking, credit or refund in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.
4. Third-party booking platforms:
OpenTable and other external booking platforms are operated independently from Marae Izakaya.
Your use of a third-party platform is also governed by that platform's terms and privacy policy. Marae Izakaya is not responsible for the operation, availability or technical performance of an external platform.
Nothing in this section limits any responsibility Marae Izakaya has for restaurant services supplied by us or any rights available to you under Australian Consumer Law.
5. Menus, prices and availability:
Menus, dishes, ingredients, serving sizes and prices may change according to seasonality, supplier availability and operational requirements.
All prices are in Australian dollars and include GST where applicable, unless clearly stated otherwise.
Any card surcharge, public holiday surcharge, booking charge or other compulsory fee will be disclosed before payment or displayed at the restaurant in accordance with applicable law.
Images on the website are illustrative. Presentation, garnishes, ingredients and serving vessels may vary from the photographs shown.
6. Dietary requirements and allergens:
Please tell us about allergies or dietary requirements when making your reservation and again when ordering at the restaurant.
We will take reasonable care when responding to disclosed dietary requirements. However, our kitchen handles seafood, shellfish, fish, gluten, wheat, soy, sesame, dairy, eggs, nuts and other allergens.
Because food is prepared in shared kitchen and dining environments, we cannot guarantee that any dish will be completely free from a particular allergen or traces of allergens.
Guests with serious allergies should speak directly with a manager before ordering. Information provided about ingredients is general and may change if recipes or suppliers change.
Nothing in this section excludes our obligation to exercise due care and skill or any other responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded.
7. Alcohol and responsible service:
Alcohol is supplied in accordance with Victorian liquor laws and Marae Izakaya's liquor licence.
Alcohol will not be supplied to anyone under 18 years of age. Valid proof of age may be requested.
We may refuse the sale or service of alcohol where required by law, including where a person is underage, intoxicated, disorderly or unable to provide acceptable identification.
All alcohol service is subject to Responsible Service of Alcohol requirements and the conditions of our liquor licence.
8. Conduct at the restaurant:
Guests must behave respectfully toward staff, other guests and restaurant property.
We may refuse entry or service, or ask a person to leave, where reasonably necessary to protect safety, comply with the law or respond to threatening, abusive, discriminatory, intoxicated or disruptive conduct.
Any decision will be made in accordance with applicable laws, including liquor licensing and anti-discrimination requirements.
9. Gift vouchers:
Gift vouchers purchased for monetary value will be valid for at least three years from the date of issue unless a lawful exception applies. The issue date and expiry date will be displayed on or supplied with the voucher.

May be used over more than one transaction where the voucher system permits

Remain subject to any venue or product restrictions clearly disclosed before purchase
No prohibited post-supply fees will be charged.
Promotional vouchers, complimentary vouchers, discount offers and vouchers supplied as part of a temporary promotion may have different validity periods where permitted by law. Their specific conditions will be stated with the offer.
If the amount payable is greater than the voucher balance, the remaining amount must be paid using an accepted payment method.
Gift voucher conditions operate alongside, and do not replace, rights available under Australian Consumer Law.
10. Promotions and special offers:
Promotions, competitions, complimentary items and special offers may be subject to separate conditions, including:

We may correct an obvious promotional error or amend or withdraw an offer before it is accepted. We will not retrospectively remove rights already acquired by a customer except where permitted by law or the published promotional conditions.
11. Payments and refunds:
Payments must be made using a payment method accepted by the restaurant or the relevant third-party platform.
Refunds, credits and other remedies will be provided where required under Australian Consumer Law.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified.
12. Intellectual property:
Unless otherwise stated, all website content, including text, photographs, graphics, logos, menus, branding and design, is owned by or licensed to Marae Izakaya.
You may view the website and make reasonable personal, non-commercial use of its content.
You must not reproduce, republish, modify, distribute, sell or commercially exploit website content without prior written permission from Marae Izakaya or the relevant rights holder.

Where such an event affects a confirmed or prepaid service, we will communicate with affected customers and provide any rebooking, credit or refund required by law.

We may update these Terms and Conditions when our services, website or legal obligations change.
The current version and effective date will be published on this page. Updated terms apply from the date they are published and will not retrospectively remove rights already acquired under an earlier transaction.
